Octopus Attempts To Escape From Jar

Octopuses are fascinating creatures. According to OneKind, they are the most intelligent of all the invertebrates. So it's no surprise to see what happens when this little octopus is trapped inside a jar. After the lid is screwed on tightly, the octopus plans its escape. It's a remarkable video and a perfect display of this creature's intelligence.
Studies have shown that octopuses learn from observation, much as we do. They are able to solve problems and get themselves out of sticky situations, as evidenced by the video below. Because they must hunt for their own food and avoid becoming food themselves, they must adapt quickly to their surroundings. According to What Eats?, octopuses must concern themselves mostly with sharks. To avoid becoming a meal, they often spray ink to disrupt their predator's vision. Also, many octopuses have the ability to hide in plain sight and blend in with their surroundings. They've also been seen using shells and other objects to hide behind. According to OneKind, they are the first invertebrates to be seen using "tools" - like the shell used for protection.
