It's hard to beat melted cheese when it comes to giving your meal extra deliciousness, but this genius idea certainly puts up a fair fight. Rather than simply garnish your dish, this recipe allows you to actually place your food into a nest of crispy and flavorful cheese. Imagine all the possible fillings you can put into your cheese cups.
One of the best aspects of this recipe — besides how amazing crispy cheese tastes, of course — is how easy it is to make. You only need one ingredient, and there are even shortcuts you can take to simplify the process further. Looking at the final presentation, no one would possibly guess that the preparation required barely any effort.

To make these stunning parmesan cheese cups per Saveur's instructions, you'll need:
• Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
• a box grater
• a non-stick skillet
• a spatula
• a drinking glass
First, grate your cheese with the larger holes. Or, if you're extra lazy, you can start out with pre-grated parmesan.
Next, heat your skillet over medium heat. Once it's hot, sprinkle your cheese in a circle directly onto the skillet. This recipe from Food.com recommends using less cheese near the edges to create a pretty, lacy effect.
Once the cheese has melted, flip the disc over to cook the other side for a few seconds.
The next step requires a bit of finesse, but I have no doubt you'll be able to do it flawlessly. Use the spatula to transfer the cheese disc onto the bottom of an inverted glass.
The edges will drape down and fold on their own, but feel free to use a paper towel to flatten the bottom if you want.
One the cheese has cooled, you'll be left with cheese baskets that are waiting to be served with whatever filling your heart desires.
