Braiding isn't just for hair anymore. While a braid may not be the first thing that immediately jumps to mind when you think of tacos, this inventive recipe from Tip Hero demonstrates just how well the two work together. Better yet, the finished product makes for an unforgettable presentation on your dinner table with barely any effort.
This dish also lends itself well to creativity. Don't be shy about switching up the filling or adding as many toppings to your taco braid as you wish. You can also try interpreting different foods — such as pizza or cheeseburgers — with this braid technique.

To make this show-stopping taco braid, you'll need:
– 1 can of refrigerated pizza dough
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– ½ cup of chopped onion
– ¾ pound of ground beef
– 3 tablespoons of taco seasoning
– 1 cup of Mexican blend shredded cheese
– 1 tomato, diced, plus additional for topping
– 1 ½ cups of chopped lettuce for topping
– sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for topping
To begin, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Next, sauté the onions in olive oil until translucent, then add the ground beef and taco seasoning. Once it’s fully-cooked, drain the ground beef and set aside. Roll out your pizza dough and cut 1 1/2 inch slits along the long sides. Be sure to leave the center intact!
Then add your fillings. This recipe calls for ground beef, tomatoes, and cheese (about half of what you've measured out, as you'll need the rest later).
Once all the fillings have been layered to your liking, overlap the fringes of dough you cut to form a braided design. The filling should be neatly encased when you're done.
Sprinkle your remaining cheese on top, then 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with the toppings of your choice.
