Lettuce cups are often associated with meats like chicken or turkey that have been marinated in Asian sauces and spices, but why get stuck in one way of thinking? Lettuce wraps can also function as a great substitute for tortillas in tacos or buns on burgers, or even as a way to neatly pull together a salad-like dish into a hand-held food.
Elise Bauer from Simply Recipes uses lettuce cups as a shell for salmon with a cucumber, ginger, jicama salad on top. It's a creative departure from typical lettuce cups, and her recipe boasts bold and amazing flavor combinations.

Salmon provides so many beneficial vitamins and nutrients, such as vitamin D and vitamin B12, but it also provides a hearty source of protein, niacin, and omega-3 fatty acids, amongst other things, making it a great protein choice for a well-rounded meal. All the veggies in the topping salad, as well as the lettuce cups, provide plenty of fiber to fill you up and aid with digestion.
