Orange chicken is a comforting take-out food that seems to be on many people's list of favorites, but it can be a very heavy and fattening dish thanks to the breading on the chicken and the thick, sugary sauce. When eating on a low carb diet, orange chicken is entirely out of the question, unless of course, you make it at home and alter the recipe!
Jennifer from Show Me The Yummy has done all the hard work for you in figuring out how to achieve the same taste while being much more health conscious. Her orange chicken recipe calls for cooking in a crock pot, which helps the lean, un-breaded chicken absorb all the rich flavors of the orange sauce.
