10 delicious freezer to slow cooker recipes

Have you gotten on the freezer-meal trend yet? They are a great way to plan and prepare delicious home cooked meals for the whole family. Prep and put all ingredients into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Label the bag with a date and cooking instructions, then put them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Then when you are ready to use them, thaw it in the refrigerator and simply pour the contents of the bag into the slow cooker, set it and get on with the rest of your day. It couldn't get easier.

1. Classic Meat Loaf
Mix and form loaf or mini loaves, then freeze in a bag:
1/2-lb ground beef (230 g)
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk (120 ml)
2/3 cup bread crumbs (60g)
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp sage
salt and pepper to taste
You will also need:
A bottle of BBQ sauce or ketchup
Cover loaf with sauce or ketchup (about 1/2 cup should be fine). Cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the center of the loaf reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit (72 degrees celsius).
2. Pepper Steak
Freeze in a bag (well mixed):
2-lbs beef round steak, sliced (900 g)
2 cups cherry tomatoes, sliced (400 g)
2 green bell peppers, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1/4 cup soy sauce (120 ml)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Cook on low for 6 hours. 
3. Lentil Soup with Sausage
Freeze in a bag:
14 oz kielbasa sausage, sliced (browned with onions is preferable)
2 cups brown lentils (400 g)
2 carrots, diced
1 celery stalk, diced 
1 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
14.5 oz can diced tomatoes (400 g)
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Add 8 cups (1.8 L) water. Cook on low 8 hours
4. Lemon Garlic Chicken
Freeze in a bag (well mixed):
1-lb boneless chicken breast, sliced
1/4 cup olive oil (60 ml)
juice of 1 lemon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp dried parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Cook on low for 8 hours. 
5. Black Bean Fajitas
Freeze in a bag (well mixed):
3 green bell peppers, sliced
14.5 oz canned black beans, drained and rinsed (410 g cooked)
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika 
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Cook on low 8 hours. Serve with tortillas and toppings of choice. 
6. Pot Roast and Green Beans
Freeze in a bag:
2-lb boneless beef chuck shoulder roast, trimmed (900 g)
1-lb (3 cups) green beans (450 g)
1 packet of onion soup mix
Add 1 cup (240 ml) water. Cook on low 8 hours.

7. Meatball Veggie Soup
Freeze in a bag:
1-lb small meatballs (store bought or homemade) (450 g)
2 1/2 cups pasta sauce (590 ml)
4 large carrots, peeled and chopped
3 cups green beans, trimmed and cut (450 g)
1 zucchini, in bite-sized pieces
1 yellow onion, diced
You will also need:
4 cups chicken broth (950 ml)
Add chicken broth. Cook on low 8 hours.
8. Salsa Chicken
Freeze in a bag:
3-4 chicken breasts
14.5 oz canned black beans, drained and rinsed (410 g cooked)
14 oz frozen corn (400 g)
14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes and green chilies (400 g)
15 oz of salsa of choice (450 g)
1 packet taco seasoning 
1 cups shredded cheddar cheese (115 g)
Cook on low 8 hours. 
9. French Stew
Freeze in a bag:
3-lbs beef stew meat (1.3 kg)
3 large carrots, peeled and sliced
1.5 cup green beans, trimmed and cut (225 g)
2 10 oz frozen bag of peas and pearl onions (280 g each)
1 16-oz can peeled tomatoes (500 g)
1/3 cup red wine vinegar (80 ml)
1 tbsp brown sugar 
1/2 cup bread crumbs (45 g)
1 bay leaf
You will also need:
1 10.75 oz can of beef consomme (400 g) or beef stock
Add consomme and 1 cup water. Cook on low 8 hours. Remove bay leaf before serving

10. Sloppy Joe
Freeze in a bag:
2-lbs  ground beef, browned
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 8 oz can tomato sauce (250 g)
1 6 oz can tomato paste (170 g)
1/2 cup ketchup (120 ml)
1/3 cup packed brown sugar (43 g)
3 tbsp soy sauce
You will also need:
12 hamburger buns
Cook on low 3 hours.
