1 tablespoon butter
1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
3 eggs
½ cup melted butter
½ cup water
½ cup dark chocolate chips
½ cup salted caramel sauce
Grease a 6-quart slow cooker with 1 tablespoon butter.
In a large bowl, add cake mix, eggs, melted butter and water. Mix well with a hand mixer or whisk.
Fold in chocolate chips. Evenly spread all of the batter into the slow cooker.
Then evenly spread caramel sauce over the top.
Line the top of the slow cooker with paper towels to absorb the excess moisture.
Cook on high for 2 hours. Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes. If desired, slather more caramel sauce on top. Serve with ice cream and/or whipped cream.
Note: All slow cookers are a little bit different in temperature and calibration. This recipe was tested in Cooktop Cove's Test Kitchen using this slow cooker, which is available for purchase here.
