Pizza is the ultimate crowd pleaser. With as many topping variations as there are pizza lovers, everyone's happy. But have you ever thought about taking those classic flavors and turning it into a pasta-based casserole? The combination is an absolute revelation and your friends and family will love it. Here, we take a look at two different takes on crock pot pizza to get you started!
This fantastic recipe from Taste of Home combines skillet-browned beef, soup and pepperoni with the rigatoni for a family-friendly baked-pasta casserole. A few reviewers found the taste a little bland, so throw in a couple of garlic cloves with the beef, use a spicier pepperoni or add a teaspoon of dried oregano to dial up those flavors a little.

Ingredients:
1 pound (.5kg) of ground Italian sausage, browned and drained
1/2 pound (250g) of ground beef, browned and drained
1/2 large white onion
8-ounce box of short pasta (rigatoni, penne or ziti), cooked... but undercooked slightly
(3) 14-ounce (.5 L) jars of pizza sauce
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
2 cloves garlic, chopped
8-ounce package of sliced pepperoni, placed between paper towels and microwaved for a few seconds to remove all the grease
16 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese
Very similar at first glance, but this version from Real Housemoms tweaks a few things that makes the overall flavor a little more intense. No soup, browning Italian sausage with the beef, more pizza sauce, a little Italian seasoning and zapping the pepperoni in the microwave all mean that this version cranks up the flavor and will definitely be a match for any appetite!
