1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 cups BBQ sauce
2 12-ounce cans ginger ale
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
3½ pounds baby back ribs, cut into 4-inch sections
3 tablespoons thinly sliced green onions
Remove silver skin from the back of the ribs. This can be done by pushing the back of a spoon just underneath it and then working it up and off the ribs with your fingers.
In a small mixing bowl, combine everything from dry mustard to black pepper.
Rub spice mix over ribs until fully covered. Use your fingers to press the spices into the meat.
In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine BBQ sauce, ginger ale, ginger and garlic.
Add ribs so they are submerged in sauce.
Cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for 6 hours.
Gently remove ribs from slow cooker. Slather on the ginger BBQ sauce from the slow cooker. Garnish with green onions and serve.
