How to make French onion chicken casserole

The recipe below combines all the best casserole elements—creamy, crunchy, and cheesy—in one quick and satisfying dish. I like to think of it as green bean casserole turned into a meal. Serve this alone or spoon it over white rice or egg noodles.
Cream of celery soup lends a lovely vegetal quality and eliminates the need for seasoning. The combination of mayo, sour cream and creamy soup provides a luxurious mouth feel, but you can also omit the mayo and double up on sour cream if you prefer a tangier taste.

2 lbs. (907 g) cooked chicken, cut into 1/2 chunks
1/2 cup (55 g) slivered almonds
1 cup (150 g) fresh green beans cut into 2 lengths
1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (116 g) mayonnaise
1/2 cup (115 g) sour cream
1 can (10.5 oz., 298 g) cream of celery soup
6 oz. (170 g) french fried onions
Heat oven to 400°.
Place first 7 ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine.
Scoop into a 9-inch round baking dish. Top with fried onions.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Pro Tip: If you’re not a fan of green beans you can omit them or replace them with a cup of diced celery.
