I served this dish for a get together, and friends couldn't stop going on about it

Oh, how I cherish the stories of my grandmother's kitchen, where the aroma of baking filled the air and laughter was the melody of the room. One of her prized recipes was the cheesy chicken crescent rolls. This dish is a wonderful blend of comfort and convenience, making it just perfect for those chilly evenings or when the grandkids come for a visit. Crescent rolls, with their buttery flakiness, paired with the hearty filling of chicken and cheese, harken back to those simpler times when a meal was the centerpiece of family gatherings.
These delightful crescent rolls are almost a meal on their own, but they do pair wonderfully with a light salad or some steamed vegetables to add a touch of freshness. If you're feeling a bit more traditional, a nice, creamy soup could also complement the richness of the cheesy filling. For an authentic Midwestern touch, serve them up with a dollop of cranberry sauce or a light gravy.

Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley (for garnish)
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
4. Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
5. Roll up the triangles, starting at the wide end, and place on a baking sheet with the point under to keep them from unrolling.
6. Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with melted butter and sprinkle a little dried parsley over them for garnish.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the chicken mixture. If you like a bit more texture, toss in some finely chopped celery or bell pepper. For cheese variations, try using mozzarella or pepper jack instead of cheddar to suit your taste or to shake things up a bit!
