I enjoy this smaller version of the dish because I can savor it more often throughout the day!

These mini chocolate swirl tarts are a delightful nod to the sweet treats my grandmother used to make during the harvest season. In the heart of the Midwest, where the fields stretch as far as the eye can see, we learned to cherish the simple joys of baking. These tarts combine a buttery crust with a rich, creamy chocolate filling, swirled to perfection. They're perfect for family gatherings or a cozy afternoon treat. The recipe is a blend of tradition and a touch of modern flair, making it a delightful addition to any dessert table.
These mini chocolate swirl tarts pair beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream. For a more decadent experience, serve them alongside a warm cup of coffee or a glass of cold milk. If you're hosting a gathering, consider adding a platter of fresh berries or a light fruit salad to complement the richness of the chocolate.

Mini Chocolate Swirl Tarts
Servings: 6-8
Ingredients
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup white chocolate, melted
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.
Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of individual aluminum foil cups to form the crust.
Bake the crusts in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove and let cool.
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crusts.
Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top of each tart and use a toothpick to create a swirl pattern.
Refrigerate the tarts for at least 2 hours or until set.
Serve chilled and enjoy!

For a nut-free version, simply omit the chopped nuts from the crust. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate, such as milk or white chocolate, for the filling. For a festive touch, sprinkle some sea salt or crushed peppermint candies on top before serving. If you prefer a more traditional pastry crust, feel free to substitute the graham cracker crust with a shortcrust pastry.
