Crispy baked tofu strips are a delightful plant-based alternative to traditional chicken strips, perfect for those looking to incorporate more vegetarian options into their meals. This recipe is inspired by my quest for a healthy, protein-rich snack that satisfies my craving for something crunchy and savory. It's a great way to enjoy tofu, even if you're not usually a fan, as the breading adds a delicious texture and flavor. Plus, it's oven-baked, making it a healthier option compared to frying.
These crispy baked tofu strips pair wonderfully with a variety of sides. For a light and refreshing meal, serve them alongside a mixed green salad with a tangy vinaigrette. They also go well with roasted vegetables or sweet potato fries for a heartier option. Don't forget to include your favorite dipping sauces, such as spicy sriracha mayo, honey mustard, or a classic barbecue sauce, to enhance the flavor of the strips.

Variations & Tips
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. You can also experiment with different seasonings, such as adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for heat or some dried herbs like oregano or thyme for an herby twist. If you prefer a more Asian-inspired flavor, try adding a teaspoon of sesame oil to the soy sauce mixture and sprinkle some sesame seeds on the strips before baking.
