Spicy honey glazed chicken strips are a delightful twist on the classic chicken tender, combining the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. This dish is inspired by my love for bold flavors and the need for quick, satisfying meals after a long day at work. It's a great way to spice up your weeknight dinners or impress guests at a casual gathering. The crispy coating and the sticky glaze make these strips irresistible, and they're baked, not fried, making them a healthier option without sacrificing taste.
These spicy honey glazed chicken strips pair wonderfully with a side of creamy coleslaw or a fresh garden salad. For a heartier meal, serve them with sweet potato fries or roasted vegetables. If you're hosting a party, they make a great appetizer served with a selection of dipping sauces like ranch or blue cheese.

Servings: 4

Ingredients
1 pound chicken breast, cut into strips
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
Place the flour in a separate shallow dish, and the beaten eggs in another.
Dredge each chicken strip in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Arrange the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
While the chicken is baking, prepare the glaze by combining honey, hot sauce, and soy sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until well combined and heated through.
Once the chicken strips are done, remove them from the oven and brush with the spicy honey glaze.
Return the glazed chicken strips to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to set the glaze.

Variations & Tips
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour. You can also adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper or hot sauce to suit your taste. If you prefer a different flavor profile, try adding a teaspoon of ginger to the glaze for an Asian-inspired twist. For a smoky flavor, add a touch of smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mixture.
