Cooktop Cove: How to make slow cooker "blooming apples"

This caramel, cinnamon, favorite is going to have you craving crisp fall weather just so you can enjoy these blooming apples at the height of their freshness. This recipe is fantastic all year -- it's a great bbq favorite or holiday special. This apple dish, made by the blog Gal on a Mission, is delicious and easy to put together. 
Prep takes just 10 minutes, and you can slow cook them for 2 hours if you're in a rush, or 4 if you have some extra time. Plus, you top these blooming apples off with some fresh ice cream, caramel, and even nuts to add some nice texture to this melt-in-your-mouth treat.
Ingredients:
2 medium apples
3 tablespoons caramel sauce
2 tablespoons melted butter  
3 tablespoons brown sugar 
1 teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon flour
Optional: Ice cream
