Chopping and slicing onions remains one of the most unpleasant - even tear-filled - tasks around the kitchen. Rajshri Food just made this chore a bit more manageable with simple tips for chopping, slicing and dicing these flavorful root vegetables.
"I understand it (cutting an onion) sounds very easy, but it's not as easy as it sounds," narrator and Bombay chef Varun Inamdar begins. Inamdar stresses efficiency as the prized task when working with these items loaded with tear-producing gas.
Inamadar describes both a water soaking and freezing method to diminish the release of eye-irritating sulfur gas before detailing several techniques on preparation. He then demonstrates different cutting techniques determined by your final use of the onion.

"Onions are super-healthy," Victoria Jarzabkowski, a nutritionist with the Fitness Institute of Texas at the University of Texas at Austin told LiveScience
. "They are excellent sources of vitamin C, sulphuric compounds, flavonoids, and phytochemicals."
QAlso, quercetin, an antioxidant included in onions may also work in the body to prevent cancers.
