By Stacey Mattish
Yum! The smell of baking dough just makes people feel so good. Now, take that delicious dough and combine some protein with it to make a delicious finger food that takes very little work. You can use this for an appetizer or the main meal or a side! It's so versatile!
To keep the job simple, use ready-made pizza dough and pre-shredded cheese. If you're a little more adventurous and like to make your own dough, that is always an option.
The best part about this recipe is that it uses items that are easy to find and likely already in your pantry. Let's get started!
To spice things up, we use buffalo sauce over our protein of choice (chicken).
Servings: 6
Prep time: 40 minutes
Cook time: 50 minutes
Total time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound chicken breast boneless skinless
1½ cup buffalo sauce
¼ cup chives thinly sliced
1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 16oz packs ready made pizza dough
3 tablespoons butter melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Place chicken on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil.
Then bake for 15-20 minutes until chicken is fully cooked. Remove from oven then shred with 2 forks.
Place shredded chicken into a large bowl. Add in 1 cup buffalo sauce, chives, pepper jack cheese, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Roll out pizza dough and cut into 15 square pieces.
Brush both sides of dough generously with butter.
Evenly spoon chicken mixture on top of each piece of dough. Then stack in piles of 3 directly on top of each other.
Grease a loaf pan, and then place each stack in pan with edges facing up.
Pour the remaining ½ cup buffalo sauce on top. Then evenly sprinkle with mozzarella.
Bake in oven for 45-50 minutes until the dough is completely cooked through and top is melted and golden brown.
Remove from oven, and carefully flip onto a plate. Serve with ranch or blue cheese for dipping! Now you've got the best buffalo chicken pull apart bread in town!
Pro tip: If buffalo sauce is too spicy for your family, you can substitute barbecue sauce instead. Also, try mixing cheeses for different flavors.
