Chicken often gets the bad rap as the dry meat. However, if done correctly, chicken can be tender, juicy and full of flavor. In fact, it actually doesn't even require a whole lot to make chicken much more tender. In fact, one of the best things to cook chicken in to tenderize it is...beer. Yes that's right, you can crack open a cold one and use it to help get the juicy flavorful chicken you've been looking for.
The best part about this recipe? It just takes four ingredients.

Preparation Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 8 hours, 10 mins
Ingredients
1 4-6 pound chicken -  cleaned, gizzards removed
1 can light beer
your favorite spices (we used this one)
rosemary

Directions
1. When cleaning chicken, be sure to remove any gizzards. Pull away any excess fat at cavity opening. Pat dry with paper towels and place inside a 6-quart slow cooker.
2. Pour beer into slow cooker.
3. Generously season chicken with your favorite poultry seasonings.
4. Cook on low 8 hours or on high for 4. Check the temperature of the chicken. It is done when the internal temperature reaches 165 at the thickest part of the thigh. Continue to cook if necessary.
5. Remove from slow cooker and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes before carving as usual.
