Dinner is a prime time to spend with family, but when it takes hours to prepare, there isn't always time left for socializing. Many quick recipes land in a place that they feel like a rushed afterthought, but there are a select few that hit the mark. This is one of them. Loaded with ground beef, cheese, and pasta, you'll have to look far and wide to find someone who wouldn't be a fan.
The steps below come from MOMables' video, which is based on a recipe by Laura Fuentes. While they use rotini and bowties respectively for their pasta, the grouping of ingredients has them calling this "skillet lasagna." The whole recipe can be prepared in a single skillet, so this quick dinner will clean up even faster.

She starts with a dollop of coconut oil. While you can use whichever oil you'd like, coconut oil is gaining in popularity for a number of reasons. First off, given the fact that it's a saturated fat, "is able to withstand high temperatures than other oils," writes SFGate. Additionally, coconut oil reportedly lends a particularly delicious flavor to the food it's being used in.
Once it's nearly cooked, add a minced clove of garlic. After it's mixed in and the meat is fully cooked, start adding your sauce and seasonings. Laura then adds some pasta and water to the pan, brings it to a boil, and lets it cook. When the water starts to boil, she lets it simmer by reducing the heat a bit, and she covers the pan while it cooks.
When the pasta's about ready to eat, it's time for some mozzarella. After combining, you're ready for the finishing touch.
For this meal's final touch, Laura tops the dish with globs of ricotta cheese. This dish captures the essence of your favorite lasagna recipe with a lot less effort.
