Mashed potatoes are a dinner favorite that pair with almost any dish, but unfortunately they can require a bit of babysitting when they're made the traditional way. That's why this slow cooker mashed potato recipe, made by Jaclyn from the food blog Cooking Classy, is so great -- like other slow cooker recipes, you can just set the potatoes in the slow cooker and forget about them! Here's what you'll need:
4 lbs chopped red potatoes
1/2 cup water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic (4 cloves)
1/4 cup melted butter
2/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warmed cream
1/2 cup warmed milk

Once the potatoes have cooked in the slow cooker for four hours, they're the perfect softness to be mashed. This is where the warmed cream and milk come in handy.
Once the potatoes are soft, Jaclyn uses a potato masher and electric whipper to finish them off. Your family won't be able to get enough of these stupendous spuds!
