Pasta night is usually a household staple, but we tend to get caught up in our quick routines and age-old recipes. Ingredients
1.5 lbs. ground beef
2 (24-oz.) jars of your favorite tomato sauce
1 medium white onion, diced
1 small green bell pepper, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 16-oz package of spaghetti noodles
4 oz cream cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan
Directions
1. Cook onions, bell pepper, and ground beef together over medium heat. Once the ground beef is browning, add the garlic and cook for another minute, then drain away excess fat.
2. Into a 6-quart slow cooker, add in your favorite pasta sauce, the cooked meat mixture, and all the spices, then stir to mix well.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
4. During the last 30 minutes of cook time, start cooking the noodles according to package directions, but stop cooking right before it is finished. Add mostly cooked noodles into the slow cooker, tossing to incorporate into the sauce.
5. Add softened cream cheese on top in small chunks at a time, then spread into an even layer over the pasta. Evenly sprinkle half the parmesan, followed by all the mozzarella. Cover and cook on low for another 20 minutes, or until all the cheese has melted.
