How to make slow cooker potato soup

Ingredients:
6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 large onion, diced
1-quart chicken broth
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup butter
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 cup cream (or  1 cup half and half)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Garnish: chives, sour cream, bacon, and cheese
If you want to add a little kick to this dish, chop up 1 jalapenos finely (add it to taste) and use it as a garnish with your bacon, cheese, chives, and sour cream.

Instructions: 
1. Combine your potatoes, onion, chicken broth, garlic, butter, and salt and pepper in your slow cooker
2. Cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 8
3. Mash up your potatoes until they're coarsely chopped and the soup is thickened a little bit.
4. Stir in cheese, and mix
5. Garnish with the toppings of your choosing
