Are you planning a party and looking for an appetizer everyone will love that requires no time on your part? Then you have come to the right place! There’s nothing worst than having guests and being trapped in the kitchen slaving away. If that’s you, then this Cheesy Tater Tots recipe is for you.
I’ve received RAVE reviews from everyone who’s tried this. It’s a meal the whole family will love, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and easily customizable too. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love salty, creamy tater tots drowning in gooey cheese. Everything’s always better with cheese!

For this recipe, the ingredients could not be more basic. Just dump 5-ingredients into your crockpot and let it do its magic while you walk away and enjoy the party!
Now if you really want to get fancy or would like something more than an appetizer, you can add some shredded chicken to these Cheesy Tater Tots. I buy rotisserie chicken, shred it and toss in the crockpot with the other ingredients. It makes for a comforting, well-rounded meal that will satisfy everyone.
Slow cooker cheesy tator tots
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes
Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
1 32-ounce bag frozen tater tots
2 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
1 15-oz. can cream of chicken soup
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
Directions
1.  Spray the inside of your slow cooker liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Don’t forget the sides or the bottom. As the tots cook, they will stick to the pot and you will be sorry if you don’t spray every knock and cranny so don’t be shy here! Then dump the frozen tater tots into your slow cooker.

2. Toss the cream of chicken soup, salt and pepper on top.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour or until the tater tots are soft and soup is bubbly.
3. When the tater tots are cooked, stir and add the cheese in an even layer. Don’t be afraid to add more cheese either, it’s the best part! I’ve also made this with blue cheese and it’s delicious so don’t be scared to experiment here!

4.  Cook on low another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and serve.

I leave the tater tots in the crockpot and let everyone serve their own right from there. It makes entertaining much easier and there are fewer dishes to clean.

Pro tip: If you want to make this recipe even better, add some shredded chicken to your crockpot for a full on meal. So simple and everyone will love it.
