If you've already figured out your dinner menu but are stumped for dessert ideas, then look no further. You can use your slow cooker to make a delicious strata, which is a layered dessert filled with creamy custard, sweet brioche, and, of course, chocolate!
Strata is simple to make and requires very little preparation. This version tastes best when ripe raspberries are in season, but you can use frozen berries if you get a real craving when fresh fruit options are sparse. So ... let's get cooking!

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours, 25 minutes
Serves: 6
Ingredients
1/2 cup (118 ml) heavy cream
1/2 cup (118 ml) milk
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup (57 g) sugar
6 cups (approximately 1 1/2 lb. loaf) brioche bread, cubed
1 1/2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips
1 cup (227 g) fresh raspberries
Optional: whipped cream and mint leaves for topping\
1. Begin by mixing the cream, milk, eggs, vanilla, and sugar together.
2. Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture, stirring thoroughly to coat all the bread. Tip: Let the mixture stand for 15 minutes, so the brioche can absorb most of the liquid.
3. Layer half of the bread and custard mixture in the slow cooker, then top with half the chocolate chips and half of the raspberries. Tip: Feel free to use your favorite milk, white, or semisweet chocolate here.
4. Repeat with the remaining bread, chocolate, and fruit. Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
5. Serve with whipped cream and fresh mint leaves.
