Has your wood furniture seen better days? Before you think of throwing it out, take a moment to size up the damage. There are simple fixes that can take your wooden furniture from looking like it belongs on a curb side to a totally restored and like-new look.
How to remove heat spots.
Did you accidentally put a put a hot pan on your table Don't worry! There's a solution. Thru Jenn's Lens suggests using an iron and a light colored towel to remove the unsightly white mark left behind from heat damage. Simply place the towel over the spot and run the iron over it. The steam will lift the stain from the wood.

SF Gate indicates another option that involves removing the white mark with cigarette ash and lemon juice and then creating a paste with toothpaste and baking soda. Either method will work.
How to remove water marks
If water marks are your problem, don't worry. There's a solution for you, too. Quest TV indicates that you should begin with fine wire wool. Buff out the water mark. Next, you should use varnish to even out the appearance of the wood. It will look good as new!
