Transform grout using hydrogen peroxide, along with 9 other household uses too

From cleaning agent to disinfectant to doggy de-skunker, hydrogen peroxide has many more uses beyond the medical. Take your brown bottle of H2O2 out of your first aid kit and give some of these uses a try!
Important: If you transfer your H2O2 to another container, e.g., a spray bottle, be sure that it is completely opaque. Exposure to light makes hydrogen peroxide useless -- that's why it comes in those brown bottles!

1. Whiten grout
Dingy grout making your otherwise beautiful tile an eyesore? Natural Living Ideas recommends making a thick paste from white flour and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste to the grout, cover with plastic wrap and let it sit overnight. The next day, rinse away to paste to reveal whitened grout!
2. De-skunk the dog
If your furbaby gets too curious about a skunk, the Humane Society of the United States recommends rubbing this mixture into his fur: one quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, one-quarter cup of baking soda and one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing soap. The peroxide can bleach the dog's hair, so leave it on only for a short while; rinse thoroughly and follow with a regular shampoo.
3. Remove ear wax
Using an eyedropper and lying on your side, place 5-10 drops of hydrogen peroxide into the ear. Stay in the position for several minutes, allowing the H2O2 to get into the wax and start softening. To drain, either flush with water or flip over to your other side and let gravity do the work.
4. Sanitize the shower
Spray hydrogen peroxide around the shower and tub to kill bacteria and fungus -- don't forget the curtains!
5. Whiten laundry
Replace bleach with a cup of hydrogen peroxide for a load of whites; it's just as effective and doesn't have a bleachy smell.
6. Treat foot fungus
Apply a 50/50 water and H2O2 mixture directly to foot fungus at night before going to bed. Over time, fungal growth will stop, and fungus that's already there will disappear.
7. Clean humidifier
Run a pint of hydrogen peroxide through the humidifier to get rid of icky growth -- works on steamers, too!
8. Highlight hair
Hydrogen peroxide has been used for decades to produce a classic sun-bleached look. Mix H2O2 with an equal amount of water, and spray on hair in the desired areas. Wait 10-15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
9. Clear acne
Swab peroxide onto pimples or use it as a facial rinse. Either way, you're killing the bacteria on the zits and preventing its spread.
10. Disinfect cutting boards
Think your cutting boards are clean? Try spraying them thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide, and see how much bubble action you get. Let the peroxide bubble for a few minutes to kill any bacteria, then wash with soap.
