Cordon bleu lasagna
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
4 cups milk
16 ounces cream cheese
9 lasagna noodles
4 cups boneless and skinless chicken, shredded
1 1/2 cups chopped ham
3 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cups bacon, cooked and cut into pieces
Directions
1. Cook the lasagna noodles al dente, according to the package instructions and preheat your oven to 350 ˚ Fahrenheit.
2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour, stirring to combine. Season with the garlic powder, salt, and white pepper. Begin to add the milk gradually, stirring with the help of a whisk. Bring it to a simmer and add the cream cheese. Stir until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
3. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan, it's time to start assembling the lasagna. Begin with a layer of the noodles. Top with a third of the shredded chicken, ham, your sauce, and Swiss cheese. Repeat until you have three layers total.
4. Top with a final layer of bacon, sauce, and Swiss cheese and bake for approximately 60 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Pro tip: If you're not the biggest fan of Swiss cheese, you can also use 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese mixed with 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese to lighten the flavor.
