Ingredients
2 cups flour
2/3 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon thyme
1/3 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried mustard
4 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons garlic salt
1 tablespoon ground ginger
3 tablespoons white pepper
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
2-lbs chicken parts, bone-in and skin on
1 cup of cooking oil
Directions
1. Combine all dry ingredients (flour through pepper) in a mixing bowl and stir until well blended. Set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg.
3. Allow chicken pieces to marinade in the buttermilk and egg mixture for 20-30 minutes.
4. Coat each piece of chicken in the flour/herb mixture. Allow to rest on a baking rack for 20 minutes.
5. Heat oil to 350 °F. Place each piece of chicken down in the hot oil. Cook until golden brown on each side.
