"Garbage bread"
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1 pound bacon
1 cup onion, diced
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon of steak seasoning
12 ounces Velveeta cheese
Pizza dough
Directions
1. In a large skillet, fry all of your bacon. Once your bacon is crispy, remove the bacon and set aside.
2. Add your onion and ground beef to the pan with the bacon grease and cook until the beef is brown and the onion is soft.
3. Once the meat is browned, add your bacon back into the pan.
4. Add steak seasoning and Velveeta cheese. Heat and stir until the cheese is completely melted. Remove the mixture from the heat.
5. Lay your pizza dough flat. Add your hamburger mixture on top. Spread the mixture (but leave a little room around the edges). Top with more cheese.
6. Starting at one end, roll the dough into a loaf and tuck the edges in.
7. Bake your Garbage Bread at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
8. In a separate bowl, combine some ketchup, mayonnaise and salt and pepper to create a dipping sauce.
9. Cut into slices and serve with dipping sauce.
Pro tip: In Utah, the dipping sauce in this recipe is called Fry Sauce. You can buy this super popular sauce at the store or use your taste buds to create your own version at home. All Fry Sauce is made from a ketchup and mayonnaise base. Add your own spices to tweak the flavor, for example, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and a dash of paprika!
