How to make slow cooker seasoned salt chicken (video)

Print this recipe
Chicken thighs and drumsticks are the most tender part of the chicken. Too often they don't get the love, attention, or praise for being as great as they are.
This simple recipe packs loads of flavor while still letting the tender meat of both cuts shine. The key is really in the seasoning of this particular dish. You make the seasoning mixture, rub it into the chicken, and toss everything into the slow cooker. The slow cooker does all the work from there!

1½ teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 pound drumsticks
1 pound chicken thigh, bone in and skin on
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Line a 6-quart slow cooker with parchment paper. Fold sides up as needed so parchment comes up the sides of the pot.
In a large bowl, mix together seasonings from seasoned salt to pepper.
Add thighs and drumsticks. Using your fingers, massage the seasoning onto the skin and all sides of the chicken. Rub seasoning in well.
Place chicken in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 hours.
Sprinkle with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
