Honey Dijon chicken usually consists of three ingredients—honey and Dijon mustard that gets slathered on some chicken before being baked in the oven. But as the recipe below shows you, there are plenty of ways to dress up this weeknight meal.
First of all, honey may be the main sweet component here, but why restrict yourself to just that? Play with brown sugar or, as we've done here, with authentic maple syrup. It will make it just that much different and will have everyone asking "What's in this?" in the best way possible way. And when cooking this meal in the slow cooker instead of the oven, you'll need some type of liquid in there to keep things loose so try apple juice or, as in this recipe, a rich chicken stock.
