How to make honey sesame chicken in a slow cooker

Honey and sesame make a wonderful combination. You can have them together either sweet or savory. In the recipe below we use chicken thighs and let them cook slowly to soak up the sweetness of the honey and saltines of the soy sauce.
A slurry is made by mixing together water and cornstarch, this will slightly thicken the sauce to coat the chicken. Honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and pepper are added into the slow then combined with slurry. The chicken gets coated in the sauce and cooked on high for 4 hours. Finish the dish with fresh chopped cilantro and toasted sesame seeds.

2½ tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons sesame oil
3 cloves garlic
2 teaspoons minced ginger
⅓ cup soy sauce
½ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
2 pounds chicken thigh fat trimmed
1 tablespoons toasted white sesame seeds
½ cup rough chopped cilantro
In a 6 quart slow cooker add in all ingredients from honey to pepper. Mix well being sure that all the honey is fully incorporated.
In a small bowl mix together cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add slurry into slow cooker and mix well.
Add in chicken and flip both sides into sauce.
Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and cilantro and serve with steamed rice.
