Cleaning grease off an appliance is hardly anyone's idea of a good time. But unless you enjoy feeling slightly guilty every time you avoid making eye contact with the top of your stove, knowing how to deal with the grease as quickly as possible is key.

1. Remove grease from microwave vents

To ensure your microwave functions safely and properly, you should regularly clean the vent area to get rid of grease. Soak a damp cloth with vinegar and wring it out. Next, use the wet rag to tackle the vent and the inside of the microwave. You may need to use a pencil or other thin object to poke the rag into small crevices. This works with range vents too!
2. Straight baking soda

Pour baking soda on your greasy spots and scrub away the grease. Try adding fresh baking soda as soon as it becomes harder to get the grease off. Once you remove the grease, you'll want to wipe down the appliance with a mixture of vinegar and water.
3. Use peroxide and baking soda
Mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda until you create a thick paste. Dip a scrubber sponge in the peroxide/baking soda mixture and wipe away grease with ease. This works on tough spots around the burners, the stove hood, and the knobs.
4. Douse grease spills with flour

Whether you splash grease on the stove, counter or floor, you can make it easier to clean up by covering the spill with flour as quickly as possible. The flour will soak up the spill, making it much easier to wipe away.
5. Clean grease from inside your oven with vinegar

If you have thick grease stains (inside your oven or even inside your refrigerator), spray vinegar onto the grease and allow it to soak for at least five minutes. After removing the crusty surface, you can use baking soda to scrub the rest away.
6.Remove grease from the inside of your microwave
Fill a bowl or glass with 1 part water and 1 part vinegar. Set your microwave timer to 2 minutes and allow the mixture to boil. Leave the door closed to allow the steam to work for a few minutes. Then, take a damp rag or paper towels to wipe down the inside of your microwave.
7. Remove grease from the side of your fridge

If your fridge is near your stove, grease has probably splattered there too. To remove the grease, grab your iron. Place a wet (but not sopping) towel over the grease and use a hot iron to scrub over the towel. This will loosen the grease from the surface of the fridge. Wipe away the remnants with your rag (note: it will be hot, so be careful).
