Be sure to use a good, sturdy pot when making Southern fried cabbage to avoid burning the cabbage. Enamelware works well, but so does a good old-fashioned cast-iron pot.
This cabbage is tasty served on its own, but it's even better as a side dish. Serve it with fried chicken and biscuits for a real treat.
You can modify this cabbage to suit your tastes. It's particularly delicious with just a little bit of cayenne pepper thrown into the mix.
