How to make Slow Cooker apple and cinnamon oatmeal

Print this recipe
If I'm going to be eating oatmeal, it has to be made with steel-cut oats. I prefer the texture of them to rolled or quick oats. But cooking steel-cut oats can take a long time because they're whole and need awhile to break down. And I just don't always have that kind of time in the morning. That is, until I tried the recipe below.
These oats actually cook while you sleep. All you have to do is mix everything in the slow cooker before going to bed and let it cook on low overnight. You'll wake up to tender oats that still have a bit of a bite to them, and warm wafts of cinnamon throughout the bowl, and your house. It's not a bad way to get your day going.
