When you buy Windex, you likely assume it will be used for exactly one purpose: cleaning windows. But did you know that you can actually use Windex to clean several other items around your house as well? Not only that, but it can help with tasks other than just cleaning!
So next time you need to clean, polish or move stuff in your house, don't bother with sponges, buckets of soapy water or expensive cleaners. Just grab your bottle of Windex and take care of several jobs with ease.

Moving furniture
Some furniture is too heavy to move without several people there to help out. But if you need to move something a short distance on a hardwood floor, use Windex to give you an extra hand. Spray the Windex generously across the area in front of the furniture you're moving, and the item will easily slide across the floor.
Cleaning burned pots
If you do a lot of cooking, you've probably noticed that some of your pots end up burned on the bottom. You could soak them in soapy water for a few hours and then scrub until they're clean. Or you could go with the easier option: Spray some Windex over the burned area, and then sprinkle a thick layer of baking soda on top. Let it sit overnight, and in the morning simply wipe it off with a paper towel. The burned spots will be gone, and the pot will shine like new.
Polishing jewelry
Have you noticed that your favorite necklace or bracelet is starting to look a little grimy? You could pay to have it professionally cleaned, but there is a cheaper solution. Place your jewelry in a bowl, and then pour in enough Windex to completely cover it. Let it sit for about a minute before removing the jewelry from the bowl. Dip a toothbrush into the Windex, and then scrub your jewelry in all of the places where dirt hides. Finish by quickly dipping the jewelry into the Windex again and then setting it on a paper towel until it dries completely.
Shining shoes
If you have a pair of patent leather shoes, you probably like to keep them looking shiny and new. But shoe polish can be expensive, so you might be interested in an alternative method of cleaning. Spray Windex on your shoes, and then rub them with a soft, clean cloth. This removes dirt and scuff marks while also leaving your shoes with a nice shine.
Removing carpet stains
Most people probably have a certain schedule for when they shampoo their carpets. But what if you spill something in the meantime and end up with a big stain? Just grab a bottle of Windex, spray it over the stain, lay an old T-shirt over the stain, and then iron the T-shirt. When you lift up the shirt, the stain should be gone.

Use the following vinegar-based DIY solution for restoring your hardwood floors. Repeat the process every 6 months for best results.
