How to make Southern sweet strawberry waffles

Southern Strawberry Waffles

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1-1/2 cups half-and-half
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup diced strawberries, plus additional sliced strawberries for serving
Lightly sweetened whipped cream for serving
Preheat the waffle iron.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda and sugar.
Add the eggs, half-and-half, butter and vanilla. Stir to mix.
Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
Cook the waffles, following the waffle iron manufacturer's instructions.
Serve the waffles warm topped with sliced strawberries and whipped cream or powdered sugar.
