Surprise company can be a wonderful thing — unless the cupboards are bare, in which case it can be an anxious dream come true. This 5-minute refried bean recipe is the perfect answer. You almost certainly have a can of beans in the back of your pantry and some tortilla chips left over from Tex-Mex night. Dig them out and mix them with some tempting taco seasonings in your spice cabinet. That's all you need to make this deceptively simple dip, and so quickly you’ll still have time to shove all the clutter into the hall closet and change into some clean clothes.
This recipe takes just 5 minutes to make, but it’s 100 times more impressive than a prebought salsa or hummus dip. If you’re feeling particularly fancy and have 30 seconds to spare, you can garnish it with some fresh cilantro or sour cream for added oomph!
