It must have taken a mad genius to look at an Oreo and think, "You know what would make that even better? Deep-frying it!" But thank goodness that person did, because battering and deep-frying these childhood favorites completely transforms them. With this recipe, the crispy chocolate cookie goes tender and soft, and the vanilla cream frosting oozes out in every bite.
Deep-fried Oreos are a cinch to make when you rely on pancake mix to make the batter. Fying them in peanut oil makes them delicately crisp on the outside and wonderfully fluffy inside: The perfect containing vessel for the Oreo within.
