It couldn't be easier to get bold flavors with this homey, comforting cowboy pork chop dish. The recipe below combines pork chops with barbecue sauce and rice for a dish that tastes like it's slow cooked for hours but takes mere minutes to prepare.
While this dish is already a cinch, you can get it on the table even faster by pre-cooking your rice or using packaged quick-cook rice. You can also personalize it by making your own barbecue sauce instead of using store-bought. However you modify it, one thing is sure: it's going to be delicious.

Cowboy pork chops with bbq rice

1 ½ cups rice
1 cup barbecue sauce
2 teaspoons canola oil
4 boneless pork chops
Cook the rice according to package directions. When the rice is cooked, drain it, toss it with half the barbecue sauce, and set aside.
Meanwhile, heat the canola oil in a pan over high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 2 minutes. Flip the pork chops over and baste with the remaining barbecue sauce. Cook for 2 more minutes, then flip and cook on the sauced side 1 minute, basting the unsauced side with more sauce. Flip and cook 1 minute on the sauced side.
Serve the chops on top of the barbecue rice.
