French Onion Ground Beef

1 pound 80/20 ground beef
1 cup rice
1 1/2 cup water
1 container (15 oz.) French onion dip
1 cup crispy French fried onions
Salt to taste
Green onions, chopped (optional)
In a medium skillet, sauté the ground beef over medium heat. Cook until the beef is fully browned, and drain away the grease.
Pour the cooked ground beef into the slow cooker.
Add the rice, water and French onion dip to the slow cooker, and stir to combine.
Cook on high power for about 2 1/2 hours, until rice is done. Do not remove the lid during this time.
When the casserole is complete, serve directly from the crockpot into individual bowls.
Garnish with crispy French fried onions and chopped green onion.
