Old-Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 2 cups of cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of butter, melted
- 2/3 cup of milk
Instructions:

2. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute.

4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until a soft dough forms.
