This classic dish of baked ziti with Italian sausage casserole is a timeless favorite - uncomplicated, wholesome, and incredibly satisfying. My loved ones frequently request me to prepare it, and I gladly oblige, as I enjoy cooking for my family and friends. However, this recipe is so simple that anyone can make it! Feel free to serve this delightful Italian-inspired casserole on any occasion, as it guarantees a delicious and filling dinner.
Personally, I prefer using hot and spicy Italian sausage, but if you prefer milder flavors, sweet Italian sausage works just as well. You'll require a skillet to cook the sausage initially and a pot to boil the pasta. Once both the meat and pasta are cooked, combine them directly in the pasta pot before transferring to a casserole dish. While not mandatory, I highly recommend adding Parmesan cheese and basil as they enhance the dish remarkably. After all, who can resist the allure of more cheese? Lastly, bake for 45 minutes, and your meal is ready to be savored. For a complete dining experience, serve with oven-roasted zucchini alongside.
