3 cups of broccoli florets
⅓ cup of soy sauce
1 cup of barbecue sauce
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of ginger paste
2 teaspoons of honey
1 tablespoon of toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoons of onion powder
Instructions:
1. Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger paste, honey, barbecue sauce, and powdered onion to create the sauce.
3. Pour the sauce over the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
4. Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours (or 3-4 on high) or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
5. Around 30 minutes before the chicken is done, add the broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
6. Continue cooking for an additional 30-60 minutes until the broccoli is tender. If desired, create a cornstarch slurry by mixing 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce. Cook for an extra 10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
