There's nothing quite like the comforting embrace of a cheesy, bubbling hot dish straight out of the oven. My Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken Bake is a weeknight lifesaver when you need something delicious without a lot of fuss. It's inspired by the love for hearty casseroles that I grew up with here in the Midwest, combined with my busy lifestyle. This dish is perfect for those evenings when you crave something soul-warming and satisfying.
This hearty Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken Bake goes wonderfully with a crisp green salad tossed with vinaigrette, or steamed green beans for a touch of freshness. If you're feeling extra indulgent, pair it with garlic bread or roasted vegetables. Don't forget a cozy dessert like a warm apple crumble to round off the meal!

Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken Bake
Servings: 4 servings
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup marinara sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken breasts until golden, about 3 minutes on each side. This adds a nice color and locks in flavor!
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
Place the seared chicken breasts in the baking dish. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let it rest for a few minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.

Feel free to mix up the cheeses for different flavors! Try using a mix of mozzarella and provolone, or add a bit of sharp cheddar for a deeper taste. If you like a bit of a kick, sprinkle some red pepper flakes in with the Italian seasoning. For those looking to sneak in more veggies, layer in some spinach or chopped bell peppers under the cheese.
