Variations & Tips
For a bit of a twist, try adding some sliced mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor and texture. If you prefer a little heat, some diced jalapeños can work wonders. Using different cheeses like Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack can bring in delightful new dimensions. And for a gluten-free option, make sure your tater tots are certified gluten-free and substitute the condensed soup with a gluten-free variety. This casserole is also lovely with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version, but whatever variation you choose, it's sure to bring back cherished memories and create new ones with every bite.
