Ground Pork Chow Mein Casserole is one of those comforting dishes that brings back memories of family dinners around the table. Growing up in the Midwest, casseroles were a staple in our household, and this one was always a favorite. It's a delightful fusion of Asian-inspired flavors with the heartiness of a classic casserole, making it perfect for busy weeknights when you want something quick yet satisfying. Plus, it's a great way to introduce some new flavors to the family without straying too far from familiar territory.
This casserole pairs wonderfully with a simple side salad or some steamed broccoli to add a fresh, green element to your meal. If you're looking to keep with the Asian theme, consider serving it with some egg rolls or a light cucumber salad with a sesame dressing. A nice, cold iced tea or a crisp white wine would complement the flavors beautifully.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup bean sprouts
1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 package (6 ounces) chow mein noodles
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Stir in the mushrooms and celery, cooking until they begin to soften.
Add the bean sprouts, cream of mushroom soup, soy sauce, oyster sauce, ground ginger, and black pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
Fold in the chow mein noodles, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Variations & Tips
For a lighter version, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the pork. If you prefer a bit more heat, add a teaspoon of sriracha or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Vegetarians can swap out the ground pork for crumbled tofu or a plant-based meat substitute. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra color and nutrition. If you’re short on time, you can prepare the casserole the night before and simply bake it when you’re ready to eat.
