Sheet Pan Chili Cheese Fries are the ultimate comfort food, perfect for a cozy night in or a casual get-together with friends. Growing up in the Midwest, chili cheese fries were a staple at local diners, and I wanted to recreate that nostalgic taste with a convenient twist. Using frozen french fries makes this recipe quick and easy, so you can enjoy all the flavors without spending hours in the kitchen. It's a great way to indulge in a little guilty pleasure while still feeling like you're treating yourself to something special.
These Sheet Pan Chili Cheese Fries are quite hearty on their own, but if you're looking to round out the meal, consider serving them with a simple green salad or some fresh coleslaw to add a bit of crunch and freshness. A cold, crisp beer or a fizzy soda pairs perfectly with the rich flavors of the chili and cheese. If you're hosting a gathering, you might also want to set out some toppings like sour cream, chopped green onions, or jalapeños for guests to customize their fries.

Sheet Pan Chili Cheese Fries
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 bag of frozen french fries (about 32 oz)
1 can of chili (15 oz, your choice of brand)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Sour cream for serving (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Spread the frozen french fries in a single layer on a large sheet pan.
Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
While the fries are baking, heat the chili in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C).
Pour the heated chili evenly over the fries.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the chili.
Return the sheet pan to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and top with sliced green onions and jalapeños, if using.
Serve immediately with sour cream on the side, if desired.

Variations & Tips
For a vegetarian version, use a meatless chili or make your own with beans and veggies. If you like it spicy, add some hot sauce or use pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar. You can also try different types of fries, like sweet potato or waffle fries, for a unique twist. For a more indulgent version, add cooked bacon bits or crumbled sausage on top before baking with the cheese.
