Cupcake tray
Cupcake liners

Large spoon
2 bowls
3 storage bags
Scissors
Piping bag
Piping tip- any (round tip used in video)
Cake etc.Vanilla or white cake mix
Vanilla
frostingUn-melted white and orange candy melts
Black food color paste or gel
Orange food color paste or gel
Unsweetened cocoa (or brown food coloring)
For this recipe, make your favorite cupcake recipe or use a boxed cake mix (follow mixing instructions on the box). The boxed cake is a little thicker so it may be easier to work with.
Once your cake batter is mixed, put 2 tablespoons of the cake batter in a small bowl and 4 tablespoons of your batter into another bowl. Add a bit of cocoa to the smallest bowl of cupcake batter. You can also use brown food coloring. Add enough to get a light brown and mix well.
Add black food coloring to the second largest bowl of cupcake batter and mix well. Next spoon about half of your white cake batter into a plastic storage bag. Put all of your black and brown into separate storage bags.
To start the zebra print cakes, snip off a large corner from the vanilla storage bag. Swirl a thin layer of vanilla batter on the bottom of six of your cupcake liners.
Cut a smaller corner from the black batter bag and create a black circle on top of the frosting. Add a smaller ring on the inside (so that it looks like a bulls-eye). Next, use your brown frosting and add the same circle pattern directly on top of the black pattern, then add another layer of black on top of it. Do this for all six cupcakes.
Top with a swirl of white frosting. Swirl following the pattern and out to avoid messing up your colors. Repeat this entire process until the cupcake liners are 2/3 way full.
For your tiger-print cupcake, combine the remaining brown batter with the rest of your white batter and add orange food coloring. Mix well. Spoon a thin layer of orange batter into the bottom of your remaining 6 cupcake liners.
Pipe a slightly smaller black circle on top of the orange, followed by a slightly smaller ring of orange, followed by another smaller ring of black. Continue until 2/3 of the way full (with the top layer being a black dot). Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
While your cupcakes are in the oven, decorate your white candy melts with orange food coloring gel or paste. Add orange dots and outline them in black for a leopard print design. Add thin black stripes to your orange candy melts for tiger decor.
Once your cupcakes have cooled, wrap your free printable templates around your cupcake and tape in place. Top each cupcake with a high swirl of frosting on each cupcake. Add your decorated candy's on top of the corresponding cupcake for the purrrfect finish.
