Unstuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole:
Ingredients:
1/2 large cabbage head, shredded
1 pound minced beef
1 medium chopped onion
2.5 cups of tomato pasta sauce or tomato sauce
3/4 cup uncooked Minute Rice
3 cloves minced garlic
3 tablespoons each of brown sugar and vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
2. In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
4. Mix in uncooked rice and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Set aside.
5. In a separate bowl, make the sauce. Mix together vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire, pasta sauce, salt and pepper.
6. Layer the casserole dish with cabbage, rice, and the sauce. Repeat until ingredients are used up.
7. Cover and bake for 45 minutes in preheated oven. Then bake uncovered for another 15 minutes.
